Politics is a hard career

Post  Cpt. Crinkle on 2/6/2010, 20:05

I bet any one of you who claims we have a bad government would do worse in office yourself. Every leader recieves critism.

I know I would do worse. Which is why I will never get into politics.

But there is no excuse for blatantly ignoring the Constitution, because these people were trained for politics... Mad

Honestly, I dont anyone could do an amazing job at being a world leader.
No one could. The leader isnt going to please everyone. Which is why we criticize every prez we've had for SOMETHING one way or another.

I have to agree with JediJoe that ignoring the constitution is more than a little to get mad about though.

Yeah that's true. But to be totally fair no one has quite 'ignored' the constitution, there have been some treading on so to speak, but thus far nothing has actually happened to do it. There's been a lot of talk, but no action, Obama's call sign! Razz I think one of the problems is, just like the Bible, the constitution is general, and open to interpretation, therefore different views are going to appear. Those different views don't always agree, and thats where the root of the problem is, in my opinion.

See told you but think about that when criticizing a leader.

I have an idea of the plan I'd put in place were I a president. Of course I'd be 25-35-45 years older, be trained in the workings of our government, and understand the duties and responsibilities of the office, but I'd still have a plan.

Yeah, I think the problem is not so much having a plan, as sticking to said plan. Wink

Yes but still a leader cannot please everyone. So I don't think you would make a very good leader either.

Okay honestly, there is NOOOOOOOOOOO point to this topic at all.
Like absolutely none.
We simply just keep restating how no leader is ever going to please everyone & therefore someone is going to complain. We get that being the prez is an incredibly heavy job to deal with.

You're saying to stop complaining & yet, you are saying no one can be happy.
Those two things conflict. MAJORLY.

Hmm. That's an interesting point, Kombustion. I would just like to add that no leader is ever going to be perfect, so there will always be someone complaining. I believe we should all stop complaining, as no one can be happy.

I agree with Egg and Kombustion, this topic really has no purpose anymore, locked.

@Crinkle: We may never know, you seem to shun power, and leadership.
