Gran Turismo 5

Post  Jedi Joe on 9/23/2010, 17:50

This game is looking epic, and is pushing me more and more to buy a PS3... Most definitely the best racing sim coming out!

^Go-karts = AWESOME!!!

^Yes, that is the track they use on Top Gear! Very Happy

^NASCAR, anyone? Very Happy

^Would definitely be great for 100-lap races online! Would be a bonus if they got temperature changes right, too!

^One of my complaints for the past Gran Turismo games was that there was no true damage models, but that is changing for this game! Very Happy

WOW, the graphics are stunning on that game, it's like racing in real life! ...Not that I'd know of course. What a Face Moving on, it looks like a fun game, the physics look good, and I love the paint job customization feature. Hmm I might have to get it, even though I'm an entrenched NFS fan.

When have you played any GT5 or NFS? And I'm playing GT5 right now and the two really aren't comparable. They have completely different goals in mind. NFS is more of a game and story line while the Gran Trismo series is a racing SIMULATOR. It's meant to be very realistic, like you are actual racing. NFS doesn't have that kind of gameplay, the only one that comes close is NFS shift. They tried to go that direction but they had to come out with a new update for it that pretty much re-did the whole game to make it work, it also it doesn't have near the same amount of different elements to game play like Gran Trismo, so it really doesn't have anything on Gran Trismo. GT5 does have supeer great graphics though! And if you like NFS and Gran Trismo, definitely check out Grid.

I am proud to say that I have played every GT game (except GT5: Prologue), and they're all good. I own a couple NFS games too, and I like them, too. But ever since I started following NASCAR in May of '09, I love legal racing on actual tracks, and I prefer it over the street racing games. I must say, I can't wait to get GT5 and join an online league. Very Happy

I actually like the illegal racing best in NFS... Laughing Either that or being the cops, it's quite challenging and since I'm a tactics/problem solving sort of a person, it greater appeals to me. I'm a total NFS junkie but have never actually played any of the GT games so I really don't have an opinion of them yet.

If that's what you like you should check out NFS hot pursuit, the new one. Heard it was pretty good.

Yeah the newest NFS I have is Carbon which I actually haven't even played yet. Hot Pursuit II is so far my all time favorite (No relation to the new one). It was fun and had realistic graphics and physics.

So far it's still not available on PC anywhere around here. The Wii version is cool, but I want it on PC. Sad
