Well I admit problems I have had with society and I wish I had not been exposed to cussing or some other evil tendencies. Well I want to go now live in a monestary. bye bye.

The last part was random because that would be the way to avoid society.

Yeah you can't really avoid it, nor should you. Because you can't help people if you are seperate from them. Razz

Yes it's an uncomfortable truth. That's why I actually want to go to say a liberal college, because I'm NEEDED there more. I mean I don't go around preaching the glory of God and screaming at the top of my lungs like some zealot. I just act friendly, make friends, talk to people, and answer questions and stuff about my faith if it comes up. That's how it's supposed to work. These people who preach in the street and stuff, are okay, but that's really not the way to spread the faith. You don't push it on people, you teach by example. "Hey I live this way, and I'm really happy with my life, oh, I'm also a Christian." Wink

Well good for this pastor.

First of all, about all of his topics, he's exactly right. If we're going to return our society to one that follows Christ, we need to learn to live in moderation and we need to learn humility. You can't have one without the other.

If everyone lived in moderation, there would be greed because some people would think they deserve more than others.

If everyone lived in humility, there would eventually be un-moderated humility, i.e. people competing to look more humble than others.

If everyone lived in moderation and in humility, there would be no greed because all people would recognize the worthlessness of pampering their earthly bodies when they should be focusing on their immortal soul. The body and your earthly life will be gone in anywhere in a space of about a hundred years. Your soul is FOREVER. ETERNAL. EVERLASTING. UNDYING.

Those words are all infinitely more powerful than anything made by man because those words are not made by man, they come from God, who alone was eternal and thus alone could make others either all or part eternal.

The eternal soul which he has given us is like the One ring to rule them all, from the Lord of the Rings. It goes with us everywhere. We have to get it somewhere, but we must remain faithful to God along the way. We cannot misuse this soul of ours by sinning incessantly and rejecting the premise of God's commandments for us. We must get it to Heaven, and God has shown us how.

If everyone lived in moderation and humility, no one would compete to be more humble than others because true humility knows that your brothers and sisters in Christ are better than you are. Thus, we would all do our daily tasks, big or small, long or short, with joy and love for our fellow man, because we know that if we keep our virtuousness to ourselves, our reward is in Heaven; however if we are like the hypocrites, and go out onto the streets and profess to be humble, and to fast, and to pray, and to do all such wonderful things, we have already earned our reward by showing off our supposed awesomeness to the rest of the world.

Well.....that's not entirely true, there are a couple people that I talk to. When I posted that though, it was last term, when there was a lot more people that I conversed with.
