Republic Troopers

Post  0001 on 11/23/2010, 17:54

Check these guys out! They look awesome, they're similar to Clones except that they were around 3,500 years before them and were the inspiration for Clone Armor (with Mando armor of course). http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_Trooper

Me too, the TPSS will probably be a mixture of the two Trooper armor types.

No because it hasn't been developed yet. But it will basically look like Clone Trooper and Republic Trooper armor, mixed.

Nice advancement in buckethead armor. Except they like getting shot more then those old republic troopers. The uniform is awesome.

@ Malus: Well right now the program is still under wraps so we'll talk about it in person.
@ Crinkle: Very true! Although it can take a LOT more then Clone Armor can, did you see when he held a grenade in his hand and set it off? Well actually I should say, it can take THE SAME as actual Clone Armor, and a LOT MORE then the plastic fakes the clones wear in CW. Razz

On a semi-related note, is Clone Trooper armor made out of plastic, or is it made out of a special ceramic meta-material? Because plastic wouldn't be very effective, especially in an advanced galactic civilization...

It's made of Plastoid Composite which supposedly has the strength of steel but weight and flexibility of plastic. In SW literature and such the armor is portrayed as being like described above, only in CW does it appear to be weaker than it should be.

Precisely. In CW pretty much every shot in CW seems to be a kill shot, in the books and even the movies that isn't the case.

Hardly ever do clones actually die, mostly it's just injuries. The armor can really take a lot of beating.

By the way ARC troopers in the clone wars are not ARC troopers but Filoni Troopers so they can die off.
